| Description: | A man carrying a walking stick strolls along a rutted forest path toward the viewer. Grey-trunked trees mostly bare of leaves dominate the right side of the path. The sky is very pale blue, becoming brighter in the haze or fog near the horizon, and contrasting with the autumn oranges, yellows, and browns of the forest along the sides and the path below. (From a color photograph.) |
| Note: | See the list of forest path paintings for several other works of similar composition. There may be an acute accent over the "a" in the signature. |
| Identification: | The two Inventory of American Paintings entries are duplicates; they both cite the Sotheby Los Angeles sale as the source. |
