Site: A view to the Northeast along the Merced River, with Sentinel Rock in the background, in Yosemite Valley, California.
Description: A river flows from the center toward the viewer, filling the right front of the picture. The small figure of a fisherman stands on the right bank. Brownish trees line the right side, green trees the left, while a dying tree leans across the river from the left. Sentinel Rock appears in the center at the very top. (From a color photograph.)
