Provenance: In private collection, Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1972. by descent to private collection, Ann Arbor Michigan.
Citations: letter to The Oakland Museum of California, 21 June 1972 ; private communication with the 1986 collector in 2005.
Site: Eddy's Peak, now known as Mount Eddy (elevation 9038 feet), is located about 15 miles southwest of Mount Shasta.
Note: (1) The letters "SF" seem to appear, very faintly, following the signature, and aligned slightly higher. (2) The letter in the OMA file asks for information about the artist and indicates that a slide was enclosed, but the museum cannot currently locate that slide.
Legend: Said by the 1972 collector to have been inherited from a grandparent or aunt. The paintings were found in that collector's parent's home in Parkersburg, Iowa.
