| Description: | A calm lake is on the left, with a range of brownish-gray mountains in the background, behind which a snow-covered ridge peeks out on the right. At the edge of the water are three figures, one seated in a canoe, one standing and one sitting on the shore, wearing white, red, and white shirts, respectively. On the bank there appears to be smoke from a campfire. Behind the canoe, on the right, is a conifer forest beyond a grassy clearing; two snags stand prominently at the edge of the forest, one white, one grey; there are several more downed snags at the edge of the clearing. Rocks and grasses are visible in the shallow water near the shore (From a color photograph.) |
| Note: | The picture is quite similar in composition to Morning on Lake Tahoe from Tahoe City and Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe in the Sierras |
