| Note: | The title is puzzling. Mount Rainier is not visible from any point along the Columbia River. The rounded top of the higher peak does resemble the profile of Mount Rainier, but the secondary peak in the painting, presumably Mount Tahoma, is much larger than life size. The painting may be a composite, constructed in the studio from sketches of the Columbia river and of Mount Rainier. |
