Lassen Peak, California, before the 1914/1915 eruptions, which changed the profile of the mountain substantially. Lassen peak is actually at the southern end of the Cascades rather than the northern end of the Sierra Nevada, but the inscribed verso titles suggest that this distinction may not have been appreciated by artists in the late 1800's. The last few paintings listed here are included primarily on the basis that the central peak has a flat-topped profile.
