| Description: | A hazy central hill, somewhat resembling Mount Tamalpais in Marin County, California, stands above a series of ridges and a river at the left center that is nearly calm. The banks are lined with broadleaf trees; the nearest bank on the right is a flat clearing with a hillock of brush at the center front of the painting. There are two figures in a canoe or small boat on the right bank, one figure stands, the other sits. (From a color photograph.) |
