Description: | A tall, steep cliff rises in the center toward the right side, a farther cliff to the left, framing a canyon that runs from left front to center rear. In the distance a hazy mountain range crosses the canyon. The foreground is grassy with two prominent boulders to the right, while the middle distance valley wall on the right is spotted with scrub pine. The sky is cloudy with small patches of blue. The sun, off the canvas to the right, illuminates the valley below while leaving the cliff on the right in dark shadow. (From a color photograph.) |
