Description: | In the distance across the center stands a broad range of bright white snow-capped mountain peaks against a blue sky. High on both sides, and lower in front of the peaks, is a less distant range of brown mountains with many pockets of snow. A valley with low hills is in the foreground, with scattered scrub pine and fir trees. A river enters at the left in the middle distance, negotiates several small rapids, then exits at the center foreground. Dead trees stand in the foreground on the left, a fallen tree at the right. Boulders are scattered about the foreground. (From a color photograph.) |
