Description: | Under a blue-grey cloud-filled sky, four deer browse beside a stream that disappeares into the mists on the left through a white birch forest in which most of the leaves have fallen; the ground and underbrush are splendid in fall foliage colors. Near the right, a birch leans to the left across its neighbor; in the right foreground is a downed birch tree. (From the painting, 10 October 1996.) |
