Description: | Four riders in colorful dress are some distance away along a trail through a sunny clearing which leads through a conifer forest to the valley far below. On the steep hillside to the right, two tall conifers frame the picture, reaching well into the sky. In the right foreground is a large rock across which two snags have fallen. In the distance, El Capitan frame s the picture on the left, and the waterfall plunges from a snow-covered valley; patches of snow elsewhere suggest that the season is late October or late May. The Merced river is visible in the valley below, and Half-Dome is silhoueted against fluffy white clouds along the horizon of a blue sky. |
