Provenance: (from Bonhams & Butterfields catalog description) "Private collection, Portland, Oregon"; sold 6 April 2011 for $3050 by Bonhams & Butterfields, San Francisco, as lot 1024 in sale 19125.
Reproductions: Bonhams & Butterfields sale catalog.
Site: See note below.
Note: It appears that the artist mistitled the painting. While there is a Mount Baker in British Columbia, it is tree-covered. There is a snow-capped Mount Baker in Washington state which can be seen in the distance from southern British Columbia, but the rather loosely sketched profile of the mountain in the painting more closely resembles that of Mount Hood as viewed from Hood River.
Identification: Title from the artist's verso inscription, with abbreviations expanded.
In index(es): Title list, Indian encampments as incidental subjects, Mount Hood
