Attribution: | The style of the painting is somewhat different from the usual canvas by Frederick F. Schafer. The painting lacks a central bright focus—instead, it is illuminated quite evenly. Also, the foreground details such as the reeds near the left are much more highly finished than usual and the large tree near the right is much less detailed. The signature has several features that distinguish it from that of Frederick Ferdinand Schafer, most notably the lack of any Germanic appearance. |
