Description: | A view up a tree-lined, quiet creek with a very tall conifer standing above the forest on the left bank. In the foreground a grassy bank slopes down to a sandy river edge strewn with brown and gray rocks; an upright stick is mired at the water's edge. The right, more distant, bank of the river has a similar forest; a downed snag lies pointing toward the river while a second snag still stands but is leaning precipitously toward the river. The lower center of the painting recedes into a murky gray distance; the sky is mostly cloudy with a bit of blue near the top, shading to a bright orange sunset near the horizon. Note: | May be intended to be a pendant with On Russian River, California [1]. |
