Site: | A view looking East up Yosemite Valley, California, from a point low on the South side, perhaps near Artist's point along the Madera road. |
Description: | The classic view of Yosemite Valley, with El Capitan on the left, Bridalveil Fall on the right, and half-dome in the hazy distance below a blue sky with some clouds on the left. Three mounted travelers are seen in the center, proceeding down a trail through a wide, minimally vegetated valley. A few conifers stand far to the left, several more far to the right. The sun brightens the tips of two of the trees on the right as well as the clearing which the trail passes through. The waterfall seems fairly skimpy; the colors of the picture suggest that a drought is in progress. (From a color photograph.) |
