| Note: | (1) Since the reason for listing artists' names is presumably that they are well-known it is likely that the name "Schaeffer" is a misspelling for Frederick Ferdinand Schafer, rather than that of a different artist. (2) Curiously, this advertisement appeared the day after the auction it advertises and also the following day, 26 January, on page 3 column 2. The annotation in the lower left corner suggests that a similar advertisement ran the preceding Sunday, 22 January. |
