| Description: | A flat-topped mountain peak with traces of snow dominates the center of the picture under a hazy blue sky with a few wispy clouds; a snow-covered mountain range trails off to the right in the distance. In the foreground, the viewer is standing on a cliff with a river in a dark canyon below. At the edge of the cliff is a large boulder, behind which is a grassy clearing strewn with snags and a few tall conifers in the background. To the right, the other bank of the river is steep and forested; a white bird is in flight down the canyon, silhouetted against the distant forest. (From a color photograph.) |
| Note: | A white edge, visible from the front of the unframed painting, suggests that it may have been lined. |
