Description: | Mount Tamalpais stands in center, with its right side bathed reddish by the setting sun, framed by a view through a small valley, through which a cow path winds toward a pond. Beyond the pond is a low dark hill with a tree-covered rise to the left. A foreground triangle in the left lower corner is bright, with two down snags, brush, and a small grove of trees beyond. A tree on the right penetrates above the horizon. There are a few wispy clouds, some white, some pink. (From a color photograph.) |
Identification: | Assigned, descriptive title, based on similar paintings titled by the artist. The Early California and Western Art Research index uses the title Evening, Mount Tamalpais, and the Maxwell Galleries, Ltd. uses simply Mt. Tamalpais. |
